Integration Seminar Helps International Freshmen Start Their Journey at KVK
On 23 September, Klaipėdos valstybinė kolegija (KVK) welcomed first-year international students to an Integration to Lithuania seminar designed to help them settle into their studies, everyday life, and the KVK community.
Starting studies in a new country can bring both excitement and many questions. The seminar provided students with practical information and useful guidance to make their transition to life in Lithuania and studies at KVK smoother and more comfortable.
During the seminar, students were introduced to student life in Lithuania and Klaipėda, as well as KVK rules and academic expectations. They received important information about their studies, practical tips for everyday life, and advice on adapting to a new cultural and social environment. Introductory lectures took places in separate faculties as well to provide more detailed information on study regulations.
Special attention was also given to helping international students feel comfortable, confident, and connected. Students were encouraged to take an active part in the KVK community, get to know their fellow students, and make the most of the opportunities available during their studies. KVK 3rd year General Practice Nursing student Temitayo shared her own experience with freshmans and gave very useful tips for all.
An important part of the seminar was a presentation by representative of Klaipeda District Police Station, who introduced students to key rules and responsibilities in Lithuania. She discussed public safety and order, driving and road rules, renting accommodation, and ways to protect themselves from online fraud and harassment. The session provided practical knowledge to help students stay safe and make informed decisions while living in Lithuania.
The Integration Seminar was not only an opportunity to receive essential information but also an important first step in helping new international students feel at home at KVK and in Klaipėda.
We wish all our international freshmen a successful academic year, new friendships, memorable experiences, and a rewarding journey at KVK!
