Yesterday, by secret ballot, the council elected a new director of KVK. For the next five years, institution will be headed by dr. Remigijus Kinderis, who until now held the position of Deputy Director for Strategic Development and taught students of the Faculty of Business.
“I see KVK as a leading higher education institution in the region, conducting multi-level higher education studies. We are a strong and recognized institution in Lithuania and internationally, and we are ready to accept emerging challenges and achieve the goals set in the strategy,” said the new director Dr. R. Kinderis.
Among the candidates was dr. Jurgita Andruškienė, associate professor of Health Sciences Faculty and dr. Rimantas Stašys, associate professor of Business Faculty. Gražina Markvaldienė, who was the head of the KVK since 2013 until now, did not participate in the elections of the new director.
Applicants were subject to the following requirements:
- education – a doctorate in science or art or is a recognized artist;
- at least 5 years of teaching experience;
- at least 5 years of managerial work experience;
- must meet the criterion of impeccable reputation established in the Law on Science and Studies.
Newly elected director dr. Remigius Kinderis will take up his duties from 1st July.
2,500 students are currently studying at KVK. 23 study programmes are implemented in three faculties. At the end of 2022, an independent group of international experts assessed KVK activities and gave one of the highest ratings among Lithuanian higher education institutions which provide proffesional bachelor degree studies.
