Goal
The Green Roofs Technician Training project aims to develop an innovative training course, methodology, and a new, multidisciplinary occupational profile, specialized in green roofs. The project will foster the employability, socio-educational, and professional development of young graduates in construction engineering, landscape architecture, urban planning, and related studies by acquiring skills needed for urban regeneration.
Results and outcomes
Project results:
- Green roof training course and platform development (interdisciplinary and modular green roof training course on green roofs, e-learning platform with a job section to facilitate the search for internships in the field of green roofs).
- Green roof instructor manual (learning snacks for green roof technician instructors, designed to facilitate the effective implementation of teaching methodology).
- Green Roof Training Guidelines (green roof training guidelines designed to facilitate the adoption of courses in higher education institutions and encourage further development of training).
Added value:
The Green Roofs Technician Training Program project provides significant benefits to both the education system and the labor market. It develops the practical skills of students and professionals needed for the design, installation, and maintenance of green roofs, thereby contributing to climate change mitigation, air quality improvement, and the strengthening of urban ecosystems. The project increases young people’s employment opportunities in the growing green technology market and strengthens links between educational institutions and the labor market. In addition, it supports European green goals, promotes international cooperation, and disseminates innovative solutions.
