Financial Literacy is the ability to deliberately make decisions based on the economic difficulties and financial conditions that a person experiences in their life, as well as to manage one’s own budget. As a basic life skill, individuals must have at least rudimentary knowledge of FL; this is only attainable through FL instruction. Utilising financial services more efficiently and conveniently involves the ability to utilise more and more technology. Those who lack enough understanding of digital transformation, digital financial innovations, and their application will be unable to develop FL certifications. For this reason, it is vital to provide a training program that incorporates the study of digital technology, apps, and goods while enhancing adults’ FL knowledge and skills.
The project is essential for the dissemination of financial knowledge and the potential to combat financial ignorance. The curriculum will raise the standard of living by educating the public about financial literacy, a prerequisite for a sustainable and high-quality life. Thus, the future generation will be educated, and fiscally responsible citizens will be cultivated. The objective of the project is to teach adults about FL issues by promoting digital literacy and entrepreneurship, to implement the acquired knowledge as a skill, and to develop a training program that will facilitate the transformation of acquired knowledge and skills into everyday behaviours and attitudes. This initiative will greatly contribute to the elimination of all partners’ current lack of education.
Goal
The aim of this project is to create an innovative training program on entrepreneurship with FL, DL, which can be used by Adults with low level of skills, knowledge and competencies.
Results and outcomes
Project results:
- Research report and recommendations – document analysis, interviews with teachers, focus groups with adults, final report, and European guidelines translated into the languages of the partners.
- Financial literacy training program covering digital literacy and entrepreneurship – content developed, blended learning methods adapted.
- Pilot training – training programs tested in partner countries, interim evaluations conducted.
- Teacher training activities – Training for Trainers courses organised.
- Multiplier events – 4 conferences in partner countries (Manisa, Karditsa, Medina del Campo, Klaipėda) to present the project results.
Added value of the project:
The project has strengthened the quality of adult education by providing teachers with new methodological tools in the areas of financial and digital literacy and adapting them to different groups of learners. It has promoted international cooperation, the exchange of experience between partners, and the introduction of innovative teaching methods. Practical training and prepared programs ensured that adults not only acquired knowledge but were also able to apply it in real-life situations, thus contributing to social inclusion, economic activity, and the implementation of lifelong learning principles.
