Smart Building Engineering Systems

In the fourth quarter of 2024 alone, 33 job offers were recorded, with net salaries ranging from €1,200 to €4,000. This salary range reflects the varying complexity of positions and the qualification requirements for candidates, while also underlining the need to train specialists with both basic technical competences and the ability to develop innovative solutions.

What makes the programme distinctive

The programme focuses on hands-on learning, including laboratory work with modern equipment, analysis of real project situations, and professional placements in companies. Students will be prepared to apply artificial intelligence methods, BIM technologies and digital design tools in order to optimise engineering solutions and construction processes. Graduates will be able to pursue careers as engineers – designers, site managers, project engineers, installation foremen – in various HVAC companies and organisations. Will have an excellent opportunity to set up private businesses.

Study environment – Smart Building Engineering Systems

Study environment

Professional Bachelor’s students on the Smart Building Engineering Systems study programme study in a modern, technology-based learning environment designed to develop practical skills and innovative solutions. During their studies, students work in specialised laboratories and classrooms, where theoretical knowledge is integrated with practical experiments, design tasks, and analyses of real engineering systems. Students have access to the Construction Works, Building Materials, Chemistry and Physics laboratories, as well as modern Computer, Computer-Aided Design and Building Information Modelling (BIM) classrooms.

An important part of the programme also takes place in specialised competence spaces – the GIS Competence Centre, the Cadastral Surveying Classroom, and the Low-Energy Smart Buildings Research Competence Centre, where students become familiar with advanced technologies for building management, energy efficiency and digital design. This study infrastructure allows students to acquire the competences required by today’s labour market in the design of smart buildings, the management of engineering systems, and the application of sustainable technological solutions.

Career

You will work as design engineers, works managers, project engineers and foremen in various HVAC companies and organisations. You will design, install, maintain and modernise advanced heating, ventilation, air conditioning, water supply, wastewater disposal and automated building management systems. You will use the most advanced BIM technologies and digital design tools to optimise engineering solutions and construction processes, running a business or working independently in a constantly changing technological environment.
