Activities during the placement: During the placement, the structure of a computer network and the layout of equipment on a plan are analysed, reviewing computer network equipment, including switching devices, network servers and peripheral devices. An analysis of workstation computer hardware is also carried out, identifying and classifying application software. During the placement, the data protection measures, intellectual property rights, and cybersecurity rules and measures applied at the company are examined, along with their selection and implementation. In addition, students analyse which software and hardware tools are used for computer and network maintenance and management. The company also carries out system implementation or maintenance analysis, covering requirements definition, preparation for implementation, testing, configuration and, where necessary, the preparation of new instructions or the implementation of a maintenance strategy, and troubleshooting.

Activities during the placement: During the placement, the structure of a computer network and the layout of equipment on a plan are analysed, describing in detail computer network equipment such as switching devices, network servers and peripheral devices. An analysis of workstation computer hardware is also carried out, along with the identification and classification of application software. During the placement, the daily activities of a systems administrator are examined, including the installation, configuration and testing of computer hardware and software, and fault diagnosis and troubleshooting. In addition, solution methods, problem identification, and the selection and implementation of cybersecurity measures are analysed.

Final placement
Activities during the placement: During the placement, various activities are carried out according to an individual task formulated and agreed with the company placement supervisor, depending on the fields chosen. For electronic communications network administration, the current situation and technologies are analysed, computer network operating problems are identified, modernisation and development measures are selected, solutions are applied and tested against scenarios, and the solutions are documented. During information system (IS) maintenance, IS analysis and problem identification are carried out, possible solutions are selected and applied, testing is carried out against scenarios, and the results are documented. In the case of hardware administration and development, the hardware is analysed, problems are identified, alternatives are compared, solutions are selected, scenario-based testing is carried out, and the final solutions are documented.

Students can choose or find a placement in Klaipėda city, Klaipėda district, the Western Lithuania region, or anywhere else in Lithuania or abroad.
Final placements are carried out at:
